“Bingo”, this of course is what you yell out if you’re in a bingo hall and you have just gotten a bingo! You get these by marking the numbers in a row on the bingo card. This is sometimes easy to do, if you get lucky and your numbers have been called out by the bingo caller. The bingo caller of course is the person who will pull the balls out of the cage and will yell out what number and letter the ball has on it. A bingo card is the card you get to play a game of bingo, this is where you will mark the numbers that are called by the bingo caller, and hopefully you will receive the one’s that will make a row and a bingo!
Bingo pattern, this is a bingo game in which you will need to get the bingo in a certain pattern, a good example is in an “A” or perhaps an “X”. You might have a white out, which is where every number on your card will need to be marked. People use to use beans when bingo first came out to mark their cards, and then they would use pennies or these little markers that you could remove with a wand because they were magnetic. Now you have what is called a dauber. This dauber simply puts a mark of ink on the number and that will be you mark that the number has been called.
Jackpot, this of course is what you are playing for in the game of bingo, the sizes of the jackpots differ depending on the game. At times this will be a small number like 10 pounds or $10, and other times you might be able to hit for $500 or 500 pounds.
